Obituary of Mrs. Josie HOLLY, Hardin County, Illinois 3 February 1999 Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Hope Name of Deceased: Mrs. Josie HOLLY Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 17 July 1919 Obituary: Mrs. Josie Holly was born October 20th. 1871 and died June 6, 1919 at Brookport, Ill. She was sick only a short time, paralysis being the cause of her death. She leaves four sons and one sister to mourn her deth. One son married and three single at the time of her death. One son was in the service of Uncle Sam which prevented him from being with her at the time of her sickness and death. She was born in Hardin County on the farm known as the Marglin place near Steele. She was the daughter of Lucinda and Danile Parrot. Her parents died while she was very small leaving her and her sister, Mrs. Lula Annie Hurford. Her sister was about six years and she two years of age. She was taken to Atlanta, GA., where she lived 'till she was about 18 years of old. Finding that she had a sister near Elizabethtown, she came to this place. From here she moved to Brookport, IL. some three years ago where she was at the time of her death. She wished to live to see her boys grown in which she did.
