Obituary for John Albert Hufsey, Hardin County Illinois John Albert Hufsey, son of John S. and Frances Ann Hufsey, was born October 4, 1895 near Cave-in-rock, Illinois and passed to his blesed eternal home, September 30, 1956, aged 60 years, 11 months and 26 days. Mr. Hufsey grew to young man-hood as all other rural boys of his county, attending school, church and other social functions available. On September 20, 1917, he answered his country's call and served nobly until his honorable discharge, March 13, 1919. Then he enlisted again July 13, 1927. He was discharged July 12, 1930. In 1934 Mr. Hufsey was united in marriage with Miss Cleta Douglas and to this happy union, two sons came to bless their home--Calvin Scott and Larry Dean. Mr. Hufsey was a family man, loving, providing and caring for his companion and fine sons. He spared nothing, in order to give them more pleasure and happiness in life. Mr. Hufsey worked at Mahoning Mining Company in Rosiclare, Illinois. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church, near Cave-in-rock, Illinois where he lived an exemplary life. He was a member of the American Legion. The communities in wheich he lived, have lost a good christian man, an upright citizen and friend. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wite Cleta, two sons Scott of Edenberg, Illinois and Leroy of Carbondale where he is attending school and Mrs. Scott Hufsey, a daughter-in-law whom he loved very dearly, two sisters, Mrs Mamie Crow and Mrs. Eunice Gibbs of Cave-in-Rock and a number of nieces and nephews, besides a legion of friends. Funeral was held at Cave-in-Rock Baptist church with Rev. Jack Varnell of Rosiclare and Rev. L.R. Bowles of Golconda officiating.
