Obituary for J.N. Milligan, Hardin County, Illinois J.N. Milligan was born Oct. 14, 1859 and died at his home in Hardin Co. IL. March 26, 1923, being 63 years, 5 months and 12 days old. Mr. Milligan was married to Evelyn Parkam, when he was 20 years of age. To this happy union were born 9 children, six girls and three boys. All those children are surviving but two boys who died in infnacy. After a happy life of some 30 years, his companion, Evelyn was called to meet her Savior leaving her husband and seven children to mourn their loss. On 5 Apr 1913 he was again united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Banks who survives her husband. Mr. Millligan has been a christian for some time, but we well know that for the past year he had shown by his daily worlk and deeds he lived a faithful Christian life both by precept and example. His last words were not to grieve after him for he was going to rest. Mr. Milligan leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife and companion, seven children, six girls and 1 boy. The girls are Cora Stuby, Myrtle Harrison, Gertrude Ledbetter, Bertha Fisher, and Maggie Nooks of Harrisburg and Maude Partain of Detroit, MI. Also Ila Milligan who is in the service of his country somewhere in the pacific Islands. He also leaves a host of friends and relatives. We feel that we have lost one of our best citizens and father for he was a true friend and loved by all.
