MRS ETHIE PATTON LAWRENCE FUNERAL IS HELD HERE Mrs Ethie Patton Lawrence, daughter of John and Anna Patton, was born 8 Nov. 1887 near Karbers Ridge, Illinois, where she spent her childhood days. She was married to Addison Lawrence, son of J.B. and S.J. Lawrence 11 Oct 1902. The first seven years of their married life were spent in their home state, Illinois. During the next four years the family lived in and around Sikeston, MO. They resided near Blythesville, Arkansas during the twelve preceeding years. From thence they returned to Missouri, this time stopping near Benton, where they remained till her death, Aug 25, 1932. Mrs. Lawrence expressed her faith in God by uniting with the Methodist Church at Blythesville, Arkansas in 1921, there after devoted herself and her influence to the betterment of her many relatives and friends. Mrs. Lawrence is the mother of five children, four of whom survive. She is also survived by her husband, mother, grandmother, two sisters, two brothers and many other relatives, and a multitude of friends, who mourn her death. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Elizabethtown and burial made in the Cemetery there. Taken from the Hardin County Independent, published in Hardin Co.
