Obituary for Rev Millard Filmore Oxford, Hardin County Illinois Rev. Millard Filmore Oxford, the son of Samuel C and Mollie Oxford was born 19 June 1881 and departed this life 6 Aug 1952, being at the time of his passing 71 years 1 month and 18 days of age. His mother preceded him in death 65 years ago, a half sister, Nora Hopper, departed this life in 1898, a brother Alfred in 1913. His father Scmuel C. Departed this life August 1941, all that survives of the family is a brother Walter S. Oxford, of Rosiclare, IL. He was united in marriage to Phoebe Oxford 18 June 1904, there being no children born to this untion, they have taken into their home different children and reared them as their own, namely Esther Leonberger, Pearl Gentry, Aniel Oxford and Randall Oxford. He professed a hope in Christ at Mt. Zion General Baptist church in February 1912 and united with said church and has lived a consistent Christian, having been a minister of the Gospel for 40 years, pastoring churches throught IL. and KY. His voice will be missed over the air from WEBQ, Harrisburg, IL. from 3 to 3:45 each Friday evening. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving companion, Phoebe Oxford and his boys as he called them, Mike and Buck, and his brother Walter, besides an innumerable host of relatives and friends.
