HALE Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 21 March 1929 Martha J. Hale was born 1 January 1844, died at her son, Robert Hale's of Gibsonia on February 13th 1929, being at the time of her death, 85 years, 1 month and 12 days old. She was the daughter of Henry and Malinda Ginger, being the oldest of several children. She was united in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony to James Hale and to this union was born seven children, all of who survive except one daughter Mrs. Jeff Williams, who preceded her to the Spirit Land. Those living are Alvin Hale, William H. of Shawneetown, Robert H., Gibsonia, Walter H. Chicago, Tommy H. of Lincoln, Illinois and Mrs. Everett Anderson of Kankakee, Illinois. The children were all present at her burial. She leaves 6 children, 33 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. In 1914 she married Jacob Drumm of Elizabethtown and lived with him until his death in 1918. She was later married to Samuel Winters on the 25th May 1920. Her remains were interred in Pleasant Hill Cemetery February 15th by the side of her first husband after a brief but impressive ceremony conducted by Rev. Henry Joyce.
