Obituary for Mary Kembrell, Hardin County, Illinois Daughter of Logan Belt was buried at Peters Creek sunday afternoon after months of suffering. Mrs Mary Kembrell, aged 66 died at the home of her daugahter Mrs. Loren Holbrook, Peters Creek, Saturday March 4. She was buried Sunday at Peters Creek. Mrs Kembrell was a daughter of Logan Belt, and was born in Hardin County. Some time ago she was injured in an automobile accident, which made it necessary that she wear an airplane splint. Some one told her it was a cancer. In some way, she heard of a "doctor" in Indiana who for $25.00 gave her a chemical to burn out the cancer on her chest. That was a few months ago. The attending physician at the time of her death said that chemicals had eaten one half of her ribs and her breastbone before death and ended her agony. Mary Belt first married William Belt who had a saw mill in Hardin County and later married Mose Kembrell. In addition to her daughter, a son Fred Belt, who lives in Chicago, had spent 10 days with his mother. She seemed much improved and he returned home only 24 hours before her death. Rev. W.R. Stevens, Eldorado, officiated at her funeral Sunday.
