Obituary of Nancy J Mott, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Nancy J Mott Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 17 February 1927 These few lines in memory of Sister Nancy J. Mott, she was born March 23, 1864, and died at her son, Clifford's January 28, 1927, being therefore 62 years, 10 months and 5 days old. She had often talked to her family in regard to Christian living and she herself lived it as the writer was told by a step-son. She married Charley Bloomer and to this union was born three children, two of which died in infancy and one daughter Miss Lillie Mott is left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. Later in 1890 she was married to John Mott and to this union was given seven children. Namely: Ada, deceased, Gracie, Clifford, Millard, Gertie, Robert and Myrtle. She leaves to mourn her departure seven loving children and some three or four step-children and several grandchildren and sisters to mourn the loss of a loving mother and sister. On the day following her death the writer was called to preach the funeral of this good woman there at the home of her son in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing friends and relatives after which all that was mortal of Sister Mott was laid to rest in the Mott Cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
