Obituary for Orval Patton Hardin County, Illinois OBITUARY Orval Esdon Patton, son of the late Mrs. Elmer Oxford and adopted son of the late J.W. and Ellen Patton, was born February 29, 1896 near Cave-in-rock, ILL., and departed this life February 8, 1962, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Estelle McCowell, December 14, 1921. To this union were bornfive children, Faye, Wanda, Gathel, Melba and Bobby who died at the age of two years. He leaves to mourn his passing his loyal and devoted wife; one son, Gathel Patton, of Dixon, Ill., three daughters, Faye Edmondson and Wanda Fawk, of Dixon, Ill., Melba at home and nine grand children. There are four brothers: Theodore Oxford, Ridgway, Ill., Selby Oxford of Flint, Mich., Raymond Oxford of Harrisburg, Ill., and Lowell Oxford, Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. Two sisters, Hester Lackey, Roxanna, Ill. and Ruby Anderson, Shawneetown, two aunts, Phoebe blaine, Cave-in-Rock and Lizzie Brownfield, Oak Lawn, Ill. and a host of friends whom he honored very hghly.
