Obituary for Oscar William Patton, Hardin County, IL OBITUARY After a lingering illness due to cancer, Oscar william Patton age 69, died Thursday night at his home in Rock Creek. Mr. Patton was a native of Hardin County and with the exception of a short period of time spent in Equality, had lived his entire life in the vicinity of Rock Creek. He was a farmer. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Martha Christtine Patton, two daughters, Mrs. Burzie Hunter of Alton, and Mrs. Cletis Burris of Los Angeles, Ca., one sister, Mrs. James Porter, near Cave-in-Rock, two brothers, Enos, of Shawneetown and Walter Patton of Sparks Hill. The funeral which was conducted by M.F. Oxford, was held Monday evening at Yellow Springs Church and interment was made in Rutherford Cemetery. Mr. Patton's daugahter Mrs. Cleta Burris, was called last week to come to her dad's bed-side. She was on her way home at the time of the funeral, but had not yet arrived when it was over.
