Obituary for Pleasant Mitchell Page, Hardin County, Illinois Pleasant Mitchell Page, son of Harold A. and Mary Frances Page was born in Wayne, Michigan 26 May 1927 and died in Harper hospital at Detroit, Michigan Dec. 6, 1938, having lived in this world, only 11 years, 6 months and 10 days. Due to an attack of measles and pneumonia, when he was a very small child, Mitchell had suffered the handicap of faulty vision most of hids brief life. Fortuantely, his parents were able to give him the privilege of attending the Cook school, a special school for hadicapped children in Detroit. By his own efforts he had became a member of the 5th grade A class taught in that school. With the additional care of a skillful physician his eyesight had been for the past two years, rapidly improving. Having the natural instincts of all boys, he had all of his life wished to be able to join in sports with other lads of his age. Due to his improvement he had recently come to feel that his goal had been attained and that at last he could be a "real boy" with his companions. He had already became a Jr. Boy Scout and was fulfilling the obligations of his organization to the best of his ability. But the Savior who said "Suffer little children to come unto me" had need for this lad, and after a sudden and brief illness of two days, Mitchell's spirit took its flight to a much safer and better world. In addition to the sorrowing parents, there are left to mourn his loss, an older brother, Nicholas, a younger brother Robert Eugene, four sisters, Mary Lee, Cherita, Ermidale, and Jeanne, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam N. Page and Mr. and Mrs. William Gustin, of Hardin County, and a large number of other relatives and friends. >From the Hardin County Independent 15 December 1938 ------------------------------------------------------------- UGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organiza- tions or persons.
