Obituary:

William Arthur Porter was born May 22, 1911 in Gallatin 
County, Illinois to James and Lillie (Patton) Porter.  
He departed this life November 15, 1990 at Western Baptist
Hospital, Paducah, KY., being at the time of his death 79 
years, 5 months and 24 days.  He was an active member of 
the Peters Creek Baptist Church, Elizabethtown, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Mary Robertson on April 9, 1938.
To this union four children were born; Lowell Ray Porter of
Brighton, IL; Sharon Riggs of Elizabethtown; Donna Lambert
of Steelville, IL; and William Deneen.
He leaves six grandchildren: Dennis Porter of Peru, IN; Kevin
Porter of Brighton, IL; LeAndra Austin of Buffalo, TX.,  
Dana Ledford of Mt. Carmel, IL; Tracy and Jared Lambert of 
Steelville, IL.  Besides his children and grandchildren he
leaves behind two great-grandchildren: Coryn Elizabeth and
Teddie Jo.
He also leaves four sisters: Zelda Rendleman of Ozark, IL; 
Ina Tite of Ozark, IL; Mary Oma Winders of Golconda, IL; and
Clyde Fae Roe of Stonefort, IL, in addition to a host of 
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death was his son, William Deneen, who died
at birth and his parents, James and Lillie Porter.
Services were held at Peters Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. 
Mike Blankenship officiating.  Burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Porter was a retired school teacher.
