Obituary of Imogene Sisco, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Imogene Sisco Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 18 Jan 1945 Imogene Sisco, daughter of Ewell and Etta Palmer, also wife of Earl Sisco, was born March 4, 1924. She passed away January 1, 1945, being 20 years, 9 months and 27 days old. She was united in marriage to Earl Sisco Dec. 26, 1939. To this union was born a son, Robert Deneen, who died in infancy. Her husband, Seaman 2/C is somewhere in the Pacific. She had been seriously afflicted for years and was operated on more than once. She seemed to be on the road to recovery until her husband had to go to war, she became a nervous wreck and when he went across, the thought that she would never see him again was more than she could bear so she decided to end her life which she did by taking overdose of resting medicine, three attempts in one week. We can't understand why such things have to happen but the Lord knows best and doeth all things well. She is in the hands of a just God who cares for His own. She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, a father, a mother; a brother--Junior Palmer, a baby sister, Bonny, a grandmother, Mrs. Grace Doggett, several uncles and aunts and a host of friends. May those who are bereft, lean upon the Savior for comfort for he knows our heart-aches and sympathizes with us. In every condition, in sickness, in health; in poverty's vale, or abounding in wealth, at home, or abroad, on the land, air or sea; as the days may demand shall thy strength ever be.
