Gullett and Julia Emma Gullett was born and they christened her Sarah Jane Gullett and after traveling that long road that we call Life for 76 years 8 months or until May 7th. 1938, she answered that Summons which sonner or later all must obey In accordance with the tradition of their day, her parents reared a large family and she had nine brothers and sisters, namely, Mrs Margaret Patton, wife of James R. Patton of Elizabethtown, Illinois, who passed away some seven years ago, Mrs. Mollie Patton of Rosiclare, Illinois, U. G. Gullett and Mrs. Essie Robinson of Elizabethtown, Illinois, James W. Gullett and Noah Gullett of Springfield, Illinois, Mrs Clara Yandall, Charles A. Gullett and Ben H. Gullett of Decatur, Illinois. She married D. A. Ledbetter, the son of a neighboring farmer on June 11th. 1882, and they became the parents of seven children, the oldest two of whom, Della and Ollie passed away years ago. She leaves surviving, Robert Ledbetter of Anna, Illinois, Adrain Ledbetter of Kankakee, Illinois, Pompey Ledbetter of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs Emma Carlisle Dodd of Creal Springs, Illinois and Mrs Rae Patterson of Normal, Illinois. In addition to her brothers and sisters and five children, she leaves 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, in addition to many more other distant relatives and her friends were numbered by those who knew her. She became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age and was an active and devoted Christian through out her life so long as her physical condition permitted. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliaary. A long devoted life came to an end at the close of day so that we might well say that: "When twilight o'er us comes sleating and the birds winged their way to their nest The angels of God hovered o'er us and took our mother to rest." In another column: Funeral services were held on Monday in the Methodist Church with Rev. W. M. Lane officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.
