Obituary for Thomas Douglas, Hardin County, Illinois Thomas Douglas was born in Rising Sun, Indiana October 17, 1830. He moved to Hardin County, when about 26 years old and resided here one year, returning to Indiana, there living about three years, returning to Hardin County continuing a citizen of this county until his death. He was the father of eight children, three of them preceded him to the land beyond. He leaves to mourn his departure an aged companion and five children as follows: Mrs. Ida Renfro, of Grossville, Mrs. Nora Winn of Cave-in-Rock, Mrs. Cora Beavers of Rio Hondo, Texas, Mrs. Louise threlkheld of LaPanto, Arkansas and Thomas of Potter neighborhood besides those, he leaves 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a large number of friends to mourn his departure. Accepting Christ at the age of 32, he united with the Presbyterian Church and remained a member of same until about two years ago, when he united with the Methodist Church of which he remained until his death.
