Obituary for Thomas Hale, Hardin County, Illinois The subject of this sketch was born December 30th. 1887, and departed this life September 26, 1915; being at the time of his death 27 years, 9 months and 6 days old. The deceased was the oldest son of brother Alvin and sister Bell Hale. In March 1910 he was united in marriage to Miss Malissa Isham, who still survives him and to this union were born two sons, Ora and Alvin, the older preceding the father to the grave about one month. Besides a loving wife and baby, the deeased leaves to mourn his departure, a father, a mother, two brothers, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends. Tommy professed faith in Christ a few years ago in the M.E. Church at Karbers Ridge, but the writer does not know whether or not he ever united with any earthly church organization. However, if his name ws recorded in the "Lamb's Book of Life", the essential act was accomplished and all is well with his soul. The deceased was a member of the IOOF Lodge at Karbers Ridge and was one of the most faithful members it had. His presence will be sadly missed in our assemblies and the fraternity loses a splendid exemplary type of brotherhood but like the sorrowing relatives and friends we must submit to the will of the Supreme Master and console ourselves with the fond hope of a heavenly reunion that will not be marred by death nor affliction, A Brother Odd Fellow, T.M.V. >From the Hardin County Independent 11 November 1915 ------------------------------------------------------------- UGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organiza- tions or persons.
