Obituary of Thurston Patton, Hardin County, Illinois Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Thurston Patton Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 11 October 1962 Obituary: Thurston Patton, 39, a prominent Hardin County farmer of Sparks Hill, died Sunday afternoon in Wilburn Hospital in Evansville, IN. Mr. Patton had been ill only a short time. He underwent surgery several days ago. Besides farming, Mr. Patton was operating a trucking business at the time of his death. Survivors include the widow, Eula, five sons, Everett of Sparks Hill, Garcia of Excello, Ohio, Cecil of Cave-in-Rock, Billy and Donnie at home. Five daughters, Mrs. Monav Donathan, Rosiclare, Mrs. Corena Schutt, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Miss Shelba Patton of Chicago, Mrs. Ethna Joyce of Brighton, IL. and Mrs. Margaret Douglas at home. 10 grand- children, one sister, Mrs Ida May Renfro, Ludlow, KY. 3 brothers, Harley of Dixon, IL. Obra of Cave-in-Rock and Theadore of East Alton. Funeral services were held yesterday in Central Church. Rev. George Cox of Henderson, KY and Rev. Raymond Rose were in charge of the funeral.
