Obituary for Theodore "Ted" Joiner, Hardin County, Illinois Theodore "Ted" Joiner, son of the late Samuel and Daisy Joiner, was born on September 26, 1912 and departed this life on May 7, 1988 being at the time of his passing 75 years and 7 months old. He was united in marriage to Nina Patton who preceded him in death. No children were born to this union, but Carlos, Carla, Mike and Kelly Burton became like his own children. He leaves to mourn his passing four sisters, namely: Robbie Smock, Junie Davis, Emma Grounds and Milllie Newman. He also leaves the Burton family and a host of friends and relatives. Ted was an honest, hard-working man who would rather have cheated himself than his fellow man. He gave his life to Jesus later in life and said that he prayed every day, because he wanted to be ready when his Lord called. He has heard that call and is at rest. Rev. A.T. Austin Sr. conducted the funeral services Monday, at 2 p.m. at Rose Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery at Elizabethtown.
