Obituary of Mrs. Arvetta VINYARD, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: Mrs. Arvetta VINYARD Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 21 March 1929 Mrs. Arvetta Vinyard, wife of Lacy Vinyard of Mendota, Wisconsin passed away at the Madison General Hospital Saturday March 9, 1929, age 28 years, 11 months and 8 days. Mrs. Vinyard was born near Karbers Ridge, Illinois and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Banks. She was united in marriage to Lacy Vinyard March 15, 1922, to this union was born one daughter Marjorie LaVerne. She is survived by husband, Lacy Vinyard, and one daughter Marjorie, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Banks, and four sisters, Mrs Homer Simpson, Mrs Earl Hornbeck, Miss Irene Banks and Miss Glacys Banks. Until June 1923 Mrs. Vinyard had lived near Karbers Ridge, Illinois. The family then moving to Mendota, Wisconsin to make their home. Early in life she was converted and became a member of the Social Brethren Church at Karbers Ridge, Illinois. She was also a member of the Rebeckah and Royal Neighbor Lodge. Mrs. Vinyard had a great number of friends who with the family mourn her passing for she had endeared herself to all by her gentle kindly manner and loving motherly heart. A sincere friend, a devoted wife and mother, no greater thing can be said of one who has been faithful to these trusts, as has the beloved Arvetta Vinyard, whose memory we hold in loving reverence. The remains lay in state at the family residence until Monday, when the funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. by Rev.
