Obituary of William Thomas Scott, Hardin County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Wanda Reed Name of Deceased: William Thomas SCOTT Name of Newspaper: Hardin County Independent Date of Newspaper: 7 Aug 1930 William Thomas Scott died at Rosiclare August 2nd. He was born in Illinois September 3, 1858, being at the time of his death 71 years and 11 months old. He was married November 3, 1881, to Miss Laura Friston. To this union were born 11 children, 9 of whom are living. Those left are Henry, Lee, Howard, Willis, Charley, Frank and Harrison Scott, Mrs. Susie Jones and Mrs. Eva Stacey and several grandchildren; also two brothers and one sister, besides a host of friends. All except three of the sons who are in Arizona were here to attend the funeral. More than 30 years ago Mr. Scott professed his faith in Christ and converted with the General Baptist Church and lived a steadfast Christian until his death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. N. Hicks at the cemetery.
