James Jamison, Sale - Henderson COunty, IL --------------------------------------------------------------------- File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Bill Kerber USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons. In 1843, James and his wife Mary McKinney died leaving 5 orphaned children. The children were taken in by relatives and in Nov of 1843 a sale was held to dispose of their possessions. The probate record of James contained 7 legal sized pages documentating the sale. The record names the purchaser, item sold and the purchase price. This provides a fascinating insight of the possessions of our early ancestors in Henderson Co. I'll post one page daily for the next seven days. At times, the writting was very difficult to decipher so expect to see errors.
