Oquawka Spector November 2, 1898
Joseph Dixon of Hopper died recently from the effects of having his leg caught 
by the revolving shaft of a cornsheller. No bones weere broken, but the leg 
was twisted completely around and ligaments so torn and wrenched that after a 
week's agony, the leg was amputated below the knee. Another amputation was 
necessary a week later, and then blood poisoning followed, causing death.
