BURLINGTON HAWKEYE (NO DATE) TRIMBLE-PETERSON Oquawka--In a cearemony at the home of the bride's mother Oct. 18, at 3:30 p.m., Miss JUNE TRIMBLE, daughter of Mrs. VIVIAN TRIMBLE, Oquawka, became the bride of KENNETH PETERSON, son of Mr and Mrs. JOHN PETERSON, Oquawka. Judge EARL KNOX officiated before an archway decorated with white tulle and yellow chrysanthemums, centered by a white wedding bell. The bride wore a pale blue wool dress and a gold Juliet cap with a short blue veil. Her corsage was a purple orchid. The bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs GAYLAND DRAEGERT wore a melon colored wool dress with black accessories and a corsage of white baby chrysanthemums. Mothers of the couple wore corsages of yellow chrysanthemums. Following the ceremony a reception was held. Both the bride and groom are graduates of Oquawka high school. The bride is employed as local correspondent in the office of the Henderson County Journal. The groom was discharged from the navy a year ago, after 3 1/2 years of service. He is employed at Oquawka Button factory. The couple left on a brief trip and are now residing with the bride's mother. 21 December 1898 McFARLAND-BAILEY At the M.E. parsonage in Oquawka, Tuesday evening December 20, 1898, HARVEY P. McFARLAND and Miss ETTA V. BAILEY,Rev. E.C.ANDERSON officiating. A house on the farm has been handsomely furnished for the use of Mr and Mrs McFARLAND and they will begin housekeeping immediately. They have rented WILL SCHELL's house and are fitting it up for housekeeping. The bride has just finished her term of school and is a capaable teacher and a bright and attractive young lady. The first applicant, last Wednesay, was our old friend JOHN SCHMITT. He is 70 years of age, and having a good house to live in got tired of staying there alone and was married to Mrs.B STOCKMAN of Burlington, formerly a resident of this place for many years. The next applicants, CLYDE ESSEX and FLORA PERSHIN being but 20 and 17, brought along permits from their parents. In the ( ) CHARLES H. POLSON and ESTELLA DANIEL of Media, the bride was 29 and the groom but 19. EDWARD EVANS and MYRTLE A. DETRICK, both of Olena, obtained a license yesterday, and ANEL(?) HAMBURG of Stronghurst and CLARA M. BROOKS of Biggsville got one today. (same date) ESSEX-PERSIN.--On Friday evening of last week at the M.E. parsonage, Mr.CLYDE C. ESSEX and Miss FLORA PERSHIN, both of Oquawka, A.P.Beall officiating. The attendants were LOUIS GOUTER and Miss EVA ESSEX. The groom is a young man of good habits, a carpenter by trade and an industrious, capable workman. He is one of our best boys. The bride is a very agreeable, attractive young lady and will make a kind, devoted wife and an energetic, painstaking house keeper. This very pleasant couple have won many friends and all will wish the wedded life of Mr. and Mrs.ESSEX to be prosperous and happy. OQUAWKA SPECTATOR June 20, 1906 A Double Wedding Marriage licenses were issued this afternoon to ALLEN W. BOATMAN of Chicago and EVA MAY ESSEX of Oquawka and to LOREN ELMO MOREY and EMMA DELLA ESSEX both of Oquawka. These couples are to be united in marriage this evening at the home of Rev. Chas. Holmes by that gentleman. Mr. and Mrs. BOATMAN will make their home in Chicago and the good wishes of many friends here go with them. Oquawka is very sorry to lose its primary teacher for Miss ESSEX is counted one of the best teahers in the county and has held a position in our public school for a number of years Mr. MOREY also takes one of our promising young teachers. They will make their home in Oquawka and have it already furnished and entirely ready for their occupancy. This happy young couple has a host of friends who extend congratulations and good wishes. KILGORE of Biggsville and MARGARET VIOLA PERSHIN of Oquawka were untied in marriage Saturday, Nov. 16, 1907, Rev. J.C. Craine officiating. Mr. KILGORE is associated with his father in the bakery business in Biggsville and the happy couple will make their home in Biggsville.
