C. Baum has been suffering with neuralgia for a week. Jacob Kime is convalescent. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Klemmer welcomed a fine little son Wednesday. A. G. Perkins and family have moved into their own house recently vacated by Josiah Pinkerton, and Mrs. E. B. Porter is again landlady of the Colona house. Mrs. Henry Worthington of Geneseo came Tuesday to spend a few days with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Kime. Mr. and Mrs. John Reader of Hanna Township visited in our village Thursday. Roy Skinner was in Moline Monday. Misses Florence and Clara Corbin of Carbon Cliff were Colona visitors Saturday. Misses Ida Swanson of Watertown and Katie Swanson of Carbon Cliff called on their sister, Mrs. H. C. Baum, Thursday. The Rev. J. Q. Adams is in Atkinson this week, assisting the Rev. E. W. Thompson in special meetings. Misses Elizabeth and Margaret Weed returned to Monmouth College Wednesday. Chas. Baum & Sons are rushing around with their traction engine and power saw to get as much summer wood for different parties as possible sawed before the roads break up.
