Collins Geneseo-John Silas Collins, 77, 150 N. Ward St., died at 8:15 last night in Hammond-Henry Hospital here after a linering illness. Services will be at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon in the Wright Funeral Home here. The Rev. Vernon Henson, Pastor of the Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening. Mr. Collins was born Feb. 18, 1885, in Grand River, Ia, the son of William and Elizebeth Collins. He attended Schools in Grand River and had lived here the past 22 years. He married Malissa Ellen Wilson Sept. 30, 1914 in Oscelola, Ia. He was a farm hand. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Edward and Cager, both of Geneseo, and John of LeClaire; five daughters, Mrs. Opal Richardson of Green Rock; Mrs. Mary Blau of Meservey, Ia., Mrs. Sarah Lowery, Mrs. Mae Jeffrey and Mrs. June Woods, all of Geneseo; 32 grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas of Carydon, Ia., Benjamin, Iiving in South Dakota, and Cager of Weldon, Ia; a sister, Mrs. Della Dunn of Centerville, Ia. He was preceded in death by a son and three grandchildren.
