DeKezel, 42, RFD 2, Geneseo, died at 10:20 this morning in his home. He had been ill for 14 months. Services will be at 10 Wednesday morning in St. Malachy’s Catholic Church here. The Rev. Lyle F. Sheen, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in North Cemetery. The rosary will be sited at 8 tomorrow evening in the church. Friends may call at the Myers Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon and evening. Mr. DeKezel was born April 24, 1918 in Hanna Twp., the son of Ben and Emma Boeji DeKezel. He attended schools in Henry and Rock Island Counties and was a life time resident of Henry County. Mr. DeKezel, a farmer, was employed by International Harvester in East Moline eight years before returning to farming in 1955. He was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic church and the American Legion Post here. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his father; three brothers, Edward, Phil and Ben F., all of Geneseo; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil VanDeWoestyne and Miss Helen, both of Geneseo.
