VanDeWoestyne, 84, Milan, formerly of Geneseo, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Homes, Myers Chapel, Geneseo. Burial is in North Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. VanDeWoestyne died Tuesday, July 11, 1995, at home. The former Elizabeth DeKezel was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Kewanee, the daughter of Benoni and Emma Boeji DeKezel. She married Virgil VanDeWoestyne Feb. 7, 1937, in Geneseo. He died Nov. 10, 1993. She and her husband had farmed in the Geneseo, Atkinson and Cambridge areas. She was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. Survivors include a son, Richard VanDeWoestyne, Rock Island; a daughter-in-law, Donna Lefler, Milan, with whom she resided; granddaughters, Danita VanDeWoestyne, Rock Island, and Shana VanDeWoestyne, Milan; a sister, Helen Carrico, Geneseo; and brothers, Phil and Benedict DeKezel, both of Geneseo.” Source: The Dispatch and Rock Island Argus Newspaper, dated: Wedrsday, 12th July 1995, page: A5, microfilm; Moline Public Library, Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois.; Obtained: 02 May 2012.
