VanDeWoestyne, 89, of Geneseo, a resident of Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at the village. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo, where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Food Pantry. Clara was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Geneseo, daughter of Charles and August Ghys DeKezel. She married Wilbert VanDeWoestyne Dec. 30, 1938, in Geneseo. He preceded her in death in 1964. Clara farmed in rural Geneseo with her husband, Wilbert, for many years. Later she did cleaning for Lohman Brothers Insurance and Nelson and Bollen Feed Mill in Geneseo. Clara was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church, its Altar & Rosary Circle 14, and Queen of Victory. Clara enjoyed working, gardening and flowers. Survivors include one daughter and spouse, Joan and Tom Cox, Geneseo; two sons and spouses, Gerald and Mary Ann VanDeWoestyne, Geneseo, Ron and Aliec VanDeWoestyne, Geneseo; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Netolicky, Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two brothers and one sister."
