Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plesant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorial may be directed to the Word of Life Fellowship. Charlie was born August 6, 1915, in Longview, TX, the daughter of Charles and Hattie Cornish. She married Straughter Guthrie on March 16, 1932 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1987. Survivors include four sons, Straughter (Karen) Guthrie of LaFayette, IN, Louis Guthrie of Indianapolis, IN, Philip Guthrie of Rock Island, IL and Terry (Karyn) Guthrie of Lafayette, IN, two daughters, Carolyn (Joel) Wright of Lafayette, IN and Sandra (Nathaniel) Taylor of West LaFayette, IN., seventeen grandchildren, twenty- five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She graduated from Kewanee High School. She was a homemaker and a very active member of the Bethel AME Church, where she played the organ and piano and was the choir director. She volunteered at the voting polls during elections in Kewanee. She loved crocheting, traveling and just being with her family.
