Obituary of William Lamb - Henry County, Illinois OBITUARY OF WILLIAM LAMB Kewanee Independent Thurs, 14 Mar 1895 William Lamb was born February 12, 1833 in Wombern, Worstershire (sic) England and was united in marriage with Miss Rosannah Whitehouse on July 18th, 1853, at Dudley.  They came to America, settling at Kewanee in the fall of 1862, and in 1865 Mr. Lamb became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by baptism and confirmation. Mr. Lamb was greatly beloved by those of right precious faith with himself, as a man of honest principle and purpose, and it might be truthfully said that all who knew him or had business dealings with him can testify to the nobility of character.  True he had his weaknesses but they were few. Mr. Lamb passed quietly away on Sunday, March 10, between 12 and 1 o'clock in his 62nd year, the cause of death being a breaking down from hard work in the mines, which brought on asthma and dropsy.  The funeral was held from the church of the Latter Day Saints on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Elder Chisnell (sic) officiating. Notes: Worstershire should read Worcestershire and the elder was John Chisnall.
