Vol 28:260 BIRCH.--Margaret Birch was born September 11th, 1803 at Abardare, Glamorganshire, Wales. Joined the Church in 1846. United with the Reorganization in May, 1879. Died at Kewanee, Illinois, February 2d, 1881, aged 72 years. Funeral sermon by J. S. Patterson. LAMB LAMB.--Eliza Lamb, daughter of Father John Whitehouse; born February 14th, 1842, at Dudley, England; joined the Reorganized Church, October 15, 1864; died of congestion of the brain, at Kewanee, Illinois, April 24th, 1881. Gone far away from wickedness, (rest of obituary missing) Source: Saints Herald, 1866. Vol 10:159 LAMB LAMB.--Isaac Lamb was born at Kewanee, Illinois, May 8, 1875; baptized at Kewanee, May 29, 1892. On his way to work, on the morning of March 16, 1899, he was struck by a fast mail train and instantly killed. He leaves a widow and daughter and many relatives to mourn. William Lamb was born February 12, 1833 at Womber, Worcestershire, England; married Rosehannah Whitehouse July 18, 1853, at Dudley, England; came to America in the fall of 1862; became a member of the church of Latter Day Saints November 17, 1865, and departed this life March 10, 1895, aged 62 years and 26 days. He leaves a loving wife, nine children, nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. NOTE: Correct name of birth location is Wombourne, Staffordshire, England Source: Saints Herald, Vol 42:272 MARTIN MARTIN.--At Kewanee, Illinois, March 2nd, 1880, of scarlet fever, Hiram, son of Bro. James and Sarah A. Martin, aged 2 years, 1 month and 21 days. (Transcriber's note: This was the first born child of James Henry Martin, oldest son of William and Martha Tucker Martin, and his wife Sarah Atkinson. They later relocated to Lamoni IA) Source: Saints Herald , Lamoni Iowa, Volume 28 p 243 MARTIN MARTIN.--Martha Tucker was born in Staffordshire, England, May 25, 1838. In 1855 was married to William Martin in England, who preceded her in death in 1887. She died at her home in Kewanee, Illinois, March 3. The following sons and daughters survive her: James, John and George Martin of Lamoni, Iowa; Thomas Martin of Blythedale, Missouri; Mrs. James Tucker, Mrs Fred Lyons and Mrs Joseph Lamb, of Kewanee, Illinois; also thirty grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Carpenter and Cavanagh chapel as the heating plant at the church is being repaired. Sermon by D. J. Williams. NOTE: Martha TUCKER Martin was born in Dudley, Worcestershire, England MARTIN.--Near Kewanee, Illinois, December 17, 1887, of dropsy and heart disease Bro. William Martin. He was born September 8th, 1831 at Allgreen, England and was baptized by H.C. Bronson, May 25th, 1875. He leaves a wife and a large family of children to mourn his death. Bro. John Chisnall administered words of consolation. Among the number dead In rank and file May peace attend his bed, In sleep awhile.
