**OBITUARY:
"CYRIL VANDAELE
The Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA, 
Thursday, March 10, 1988, Page C7; microfilm copy from Moline Public Library,

    Cyril R. VanDaele, 68, Kewanee, died Wednesday at Kewanee Public Hospital.  
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at his church, St. Francis of Assissi Catholic 
Church, Kewanee.  Burial is in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kewanee.  Visitation is 7 
to 9 tonight at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee; a rosary will be recited at 8:30.  
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or a favorite charity.  Mr. VanDaele 
was born June 13, 1919, in Amburg, Holland.  He married Elsie Dekazel Aug. 10, 
1940, in Davenport.  He owned and operated VanDaele's Trucking for 23 years.  He 
then worked as a carpenter, retiring in 1981.  He then drove a truck for Blue 
Chip Industries, Neponset.  He was a World War II Army veteran.  He was a member 
of Knights of St. John, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of 
Kewanee; Center of Belgium Culture, Moline; Flemings in the World; Kewanee and 
Annawan Bolders Club; and a 40-year member of Flemish American Club, Kewanee, 
which he had managed since 1966.  Survivors include the widow; a daughter, 
Janice Oneill, LaVerne, Calif.; sons Ronald and Lawrence, both of Kewanee, and 
Thomas, Rock Island; and eight grandchildren."
