August Krumwiede, Retired Farmer, Rites at Buckley August F. Krumwiede 88, of Buckley, died at Paxton Hospital at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, February 4. He had been a patient at the hospital only a few hours. He had been a patient at the Ford County nursing home for several months. Born at Summitt, Ill., January 16, 1866, he was the son of August and Louisa Sternberg Krumwiede. He came to Buckley with his parents when he was an infant. He attended Buckley schools and later engaged in farming until his retirement. He was married at Buckley on February 1, 1891 to Louisa Wolf, who died on March 13, 1937. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Balk; sons Alvin and Walter Krumwiede, all fo Buckley; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Luhrsen, Cissna Park; and a brother George H. Krumwiede of Buckley. One daughter, Mabel died in 1923 at the age of 15. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kelley Memorial Home and at 3:15 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley with the pastor, Rev. W. Eissfeldt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
