Obituary of Louisa Salmon BRUTLAG, Iroquois County, 7 February 1999 Copyright 1999 Elaine Frigone Name of Deceased: Louisa Salmon BRUTLAG Name of Newspaper: Watseka Republican Date of Newspaper: August 25, 1949 Obituary: Louisa Salmon Brutlag died August 2, 1949 Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Louisa Brutlag, 84, who died Tuesday morning at the home of her son-in-law, Fred Bohlman of Ash Grove. Mrs. Brutlag had been ill for more than two months. She was born May 10, 1865, in Westphalen, Germany and was the daughter of Henry and Mary Wilke Salmon. She and her parents came to this country when she was about year old, making their home near Beecher. She was married on May 1, 1890, to August Brutlag. She and her husband resided in Ash Grove community, moving to Buckley in 1920 and then back to Ash Grove in 1933. Mr. Brutlag died on October 1, 1942. Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Helen Munstermann of Wolcott, Indiana, Mrs. Clara Munstermann, Mrs. Lydia Blanken, Mrs. Martha Bohlman, Arthur and Elmer all of Woodworth, Lorenz of Chicago, Mrs. Eleanor Schultz of Shawno, Wisconsin and Mrs. Edna Kaufman of Buckley. There are also twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren surviving. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. The body was taken to the Barker Funeral Home at Milford and was removed to the Bohlmann home this afternoon. Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday at the home and at 2 PM at the church in Woodworth, the Reverend C.F. Freundts, officiating.
