Officiating will be Rev. Terry Strom. Burial with military rites, provided by Cissna Park American Legion Post #527, will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Cissna Park. Mr. Casper died at 2:25 a.m., on Tues., Feb. 21, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbaqna. He was born on Feb. 12, 1918, in Kawkawlin, MI., to Anthony and Anastasia Kusmirz Casper. He married Ruth Arends in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Sept. 9, 1947. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Connie and Jim Sheperd of Paxton, and Judy & Greg Bivens of Danforth; three sons, Jim & Connie Casper of Hopewell, New Jersey, Tim & Pam Casper of Marion, Arkansas, and Tom Casper of Demotte, Indiana; one sister, Alice Rooker of Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Mr. Casper was in the U. S. Army during W W II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, and the Cissna Park American Legion. He owned and operated Tony’s Garage in Cissna Park for 47 years. While in the Army he served as an automotive equipment operator. His citations included a Victory medal American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with bronze battle star, overseas service bar, service stripe and good conduct medal.
