Obit: Danville Commercial News, Danville, Illinois Obituary for Ava Grayce Cowan Ava Grayce Cowan Alvin, Ill. -- Ava Grayce Cowan, 65, of Alvin Route 1, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday (July 5, 1988) at her home. She was born Jan. 30, 1923 in Wellington, the daughter of Henry H. and Hazel Ackroyd Hansen. She had lived in the Bismarck-Alvin Com- munity the past 40 years. She had been employed by the Bismarck School District for a number of years. She loved to read and work with her flowers. She was a Member of the Alvin Christian Church and had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She married Lester R. Cowan on Jan. 12, 1944. He survives. Also surviving: twin children, Mrs. Jim (LaVonne) Boudouis of Attica, Ind. and Richard L. (Barbara) Cowan of Alvin, Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Vesta) Spears of Enlglish, Ind.; a brtother, Virgil Peterson in California; five grandchildren, Lori Ann, Kathy and Cindy Cowan of Alvin Route 1 and Tawnya and march Boudouris of Atica, Ind. She was cared for during her illness by a very dear friend Teresa McKee. Services; 10:30 a.m. Friday at the alvin Christain Church, with Steve Woods officiating.
