SERVICES TO BE HELD FOR MILDRED DEMBEK
	Visitation for Mildred Agnes Dembek, 76, of Piper City, formerly of 
Goshen and Bloomingburg, New York, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 
June 9 at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City.  A funeral mass will 
be held at 11 a.m. on  Saturday, June 10 at St. Peter Catholic Church Hall.  
Officiating will be Rev. John Balluff.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in 
Piper City.
	Mrs. Dembek died suddenly of complications from heart failure at 4:30, 
on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New 
York.  She was born on Feb. 15, 1930 in Piper City, to John and Anne Harwell 
Miller.  She married her first husband, Oliver W. Johnson, on Dec. 26, 1949.  
Her second marriage was to Barney Dembek on Aug. 26, 1976.  He died in April 
of 2000.
	Survivors include three daughters, Pamela and Jeff Taylor of Avon, New 
York, Monica Johnson of Wynantskill, New York,  and Debra Johnson of 
Burlingham, New York; three sons, Martin and Joanne Johnson of Buford, 
Georgia, John and Teresa Johnson of Great Falls, Montana, and Charles Johnson 
of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, 
Anna Walle of Piper City, and Helen Daly of Minooka; and one brother, Walter 
Miller of Danvers.
	Preceding her in death are her parents, two husbands, one daughter, 
Linda Johnson, eight brothers, and two sisters.
	Mrs. Dembek attended the Iroquois County Elementary school until 1943 
and graduated from the Piper City, Community High School in 1947.  She was a 
homemaker.
	Mrs. Dembek’s former place of residence was in Orange County, New 
York, for 43 years.  She enjoyed playing euchre, crocheting, making lap robes 
for the nursing home, watching sports on TV, especially Andre Aggassi, the 
White Sox, Cubs, Yankees, and the Mets.
	In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gratefully received in her name 
by the Piper City area Food Bank, P. O. Box 444, Piper City, IL 60959 or the 
American Heart Association.
	Arrangements were made by Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City.
