HARRISON Funeral services for Russell Albert “Pistol” Harrison, 84, of Bloomington, Indiana, were held Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Zion United Church of Christ in Gilman. Officiating was Rev. Connie Williams-Moodie. Burial with military graveside services, was held at Wenger Cemetery in Gilman. Pallbearers were Tim Harrison, Bryan Harrison, Aaron Harrison, Christopher Harrison, Brandon Harrison and Ronald Ritzma. Organist was Lorraine Schriefer. Soloist was Tina Barham. Mr. Harrison died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital. He was born July 1, 1921 in Gilman to George Isaac and Hazel Belle Ketchum Harrison. Survivors include two sons, Tim & Terri Harrison of Bloomington, Indiana, and Bryan & Christine Harrison of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; one daughter, Dolores Minard of Jacksonville, Florida; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, David I. Harrison of Danforth; and two sisters, Katherine Cawthorn, and Betty Offill, both of Gilman . Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Mary L. Harrison, who died Feb. 4, 2005; three sisters, Ocie Harrison, Pearl Ann Johnson and Helen Mae Whitlow; and seven brothers, Eugene, Harold, James, George, Robert, Wendell and Roscoe Harrison. Mr. Harrison retired as a track supervisor for the Illinois Central Railroad. He was in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the Bloomington American Legion Post 604, Bloomington VFW Post and the Bloomington Moose Lodge.
