Obit: HOWARD BLACK 20 YEAR RESIDENT BURIED TUESDAY Last rites were conducted from French-Fritzgerald Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Howard Black, a resident of this city since 1930. the Rev. C. A. Hutchison , pastor fo the Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Mrs. J.A. Vick played the piano accompaniment as a mail quartet composed of Guy Douglas, Harry Howard, D. L. Scott and Glen Baldwin, sang two favorite numbers, "Sweet by and by." and "It Is Well With My Soul." Born March 25th 1889 , At MILFORD ILLINOIS, Mr. Black was a victim of crippling arthritis and for more thatn 20 years had been confined to a wheel chair. He and Mrs. Black have owned and operated the Jo Ann Apartments on East Frist Avenue for several years. He died at home Sunday afternoon, April 12th, ending the many years vigil for his faithful wife who haas been ever at his side doing the things for him he could not do for himself. Surviviors besides his wife, Mrs. Georgianna S. Black, are one son, Former city engineer , Francis H. Black , now of Albuquerque, His wife and their daughter , Jo Ann. Interment was made in the local cemetery with the following pall beareres serving: Herman Hillger, L. V. Walz , Dewey Bishop, Cecil Wilson, Dan Dullivan and Ernest Rolin.
