KAZEN, 82 Funeral services for Robert J. “Slicker” Kazen, 72, of Piper City, were held Simdau. Nov. 27, 2005, at Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City. Officiating was Rev. James Gerth. Burial was at the Brenton Cemetery in Piper City, with military rites by the Gibb Post American Legion and the Paul Gall Post 303 of Riverdale. Pallbearers were Tom Houser, Ron Leach, Dave Long, Tom Manley, Michael Moutrey, and John Smith. Mr. Kazen died at 1:40 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 24, 2005, at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Chicago to John N. & Grace E. Wondergem Kazen. He married Judith G. Wiser Bilotto on Dec. 11, 1977. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Laura M. Duffy of Temecula, California; five sons, Robert J. Kazen Jr. of Lawndale, California, Richard Stelter Jr. of Houston, Texas, Peter Bilotto of Piper City, Anthony Bilotto of Tampa, Florida, and Nickolas Bilotto of Gilman; 23 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two brothers, Donald & Bette Kazen of Grand Rapid, MI., and William & Virginia Kazen of Wisconsin; two sisters, Betty Jean Szymborski of Bourbonnais, and Robin Kay Kosarko of Calumet City; and one sister-in-law, Carole Kazen of Homewood. Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother, Charles. Mr. Kazen spent his childhood in the Roseland/Chicago areas. He graduated from Fenger High School. He was a truck driver for the Teamster’s Local 731 in Chicago. His former place of residence was in Chicago suburbs. He moved to Ford County in 1998. Mr. Kazen served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He is a member of the American Legion Paul Gall Post 303 of Riverdale and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8141 of Calumet City. He retired from Teamsters Local 731 Chicago.
