LENZ, 89 Visitation for George R. Lenz, 89, of Danforth, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Officiating will be Rev. James Gerth. Burial will be in the Gilman Cemetery with military rites by the Gilman American Legion Post 499. Mr. Lenz died at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danford. He was born Jan. 26, 1916 in Danforth to G. Henry and Margaret Dicken Lenz. Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Eimen of Tavares, Florida; one brother, Melvin & Velda Lenz of Gilman, two nieces, and two nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, and one brother-in-law, Irvin Eimen. Mr. Lenz spent his childhood in rural Danforth. He attended the Lenz Country School. He was a retired farmer in rural Danforth. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth. Mr. Lenz was a U. S. Army Veteran in WW II. He served with the 772nd Tank Destroyers in the European Theater. He was a member of the Danforth American Legion Post, the V. F. W. and International Order of Odd Fellows. George enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends. Memorials may be made to Prairieview Lutheran Home or to the donor’s choice. Arrangements were made by the Redenius funeral Home in Gilman.
