SAINDON Name of Newspaper: Watseka Republican Date of Newspaper: June 11, 1930 BEAVERVILLE The dark cloud of sorrow has overshadowed a home in this village. Another one of our citizens and a good father and husband has answered the final summons which called him into the Great Beyond. Leopold J. Saindon, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Saindon, was born on July 25th, 1856, at Beaverville, Illinois, and was called to his reward on May 25th, 1930, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois, after an illness of five weeks. He being at the time of his death, 73 years and 10 months old. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Gagnon, on January 21st, 1878, to this union five children were born. His wife and four children proceeding him in death. On January 28th 1886, Mr. Leopold J. Saindon was then united in marriage to Mrs. Napoleon Saindon and to this union eight children were born, two sons, Camille and Zenas proceeded their father in death. One stepson, Ovid, also proceeded him. The deceased leaves to mourn his departure his sorrowing wife, six children, two sons and four daughters, Philip and Hiram of Beaverville, Illinois, Mrs. Fred Cyr and Mrs. Joe Wright, both of Fowler, Indiana, Mrs. Clifford Pilotte and Mrs. Baron Beaupre, both of St. Anne, Illinois, two stepchildren, Paul of Momence, Illinois, and Sister Aline, of Holy Family Academy at Beaverville, Illinois, 36 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Elmira Francoeur of Chapel, Nebraska, Mrs. Annie Mercier of Concordia, Kansas, Mrs. George Caise of Beaverville, Illinois, one brother, Charles Saindon of Kankakee, Illinois, also several other relatives and friends. Mr. Saindon was a choir member of St. Mary's Church for sixty-one years. The league of the Sacred Heart marched in a body from the house to the church as the deceased was a member of that society. Funeral services took place on May 28th, 1930, at 10 o'clock in St. Mary's Church at Beaverville, Illinois, with a solemn Requiem high mass celebrated by Rev. Father F. X. Hazen, pastor of the church assisted by Rev. Father LaPlante, of Askum and Rev. Father Viens, of Martinton, Louie and Gerald Saindon. Burial was made in the Beaverville Cemetery. The flowers carriers were granddaughters of the deceased, Leonie, Juliette, Adeline and Leona Saindon. The pallbearers were: Messrs.
