McKEAN Graveside services for Annetta C. McKean, 87, of Gibson City, formerly of Onarga, will be at 3:00 p.m. , at the Onarga Cemetery, on Wednesday, March 29, with visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and funeral services at 6:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. Officiating will be with Rev. Jan Miller. Mrs. McKean died at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2006, at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. She was born on April 5, 1918 in Long Prairie, Minnesota, to Dietrich and Fannie Ennen Hustedt. She married Russell R. McKean in Herscher on June 20, 1943. He died Feb 10, 2003. Survivors include two sons, Leonard & Alice McKean of Cissna Park, and Robert McKean of Watseka; two daughters, Alice & Kenneth Hieser of Foosland, and Catherine & Michael Dubuisson, Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Cecil Hustedt of Chebanse; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, alone with her husband, are her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Mrs. McKean was a member of the Onarga Methodist Church, Retired Teacher Association of Iroquois County and the ARC of Iroquois County. She was a school teacher for many years in Carlock, Herscher, Saybrook-Arrowsmith, Onarga and Milford. She enjoyed sewing and reading. Memorials may be made to the ARC of Iroquois County.
