McTAGGART SR. Funeral service for Lawrence J. McTaggart Sr., 93, of Watseka, were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at St. Edmund’s Catholic Church in Watseka. Officiating was Fr. Lee Ryan. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka. Mr. McTaggart died at 10:05 a.m., on Tues., Nov. 22, 2005, at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. He was born Feb. 5, 1912 in Arcola to John and Clara Sears McTaggart. He married Helen M. Corbett in Hardin on Nov. 28, 1936. She died Feb. 15, 2001. Survivors include eight sons, William McTaggart of Breese, James & Connie McTaggart of Atlanta, Georgia, Larry & Mary McTaggart of Onarga, Paul & Linda McTaggart of Watseka, Dennis McTaggart of Champaign, Terry & Gwen McTaggart, Pat-Rick McTaggart, and Richard & Kathy McTaggart, all of Watseka; seven daughters, Virginia Carr of Los Gatos, California, Jane McTaggart of Watseka, Mary & Mike Walsh of Lincoln, Nevada, Teresa & John Braden of Watseka, Margaret & Randy Feller of Danville, Diane & John McShane of South Bend, Indiana, and Carol & Tom Rechtiene of St. Louis, Missouri; 32 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one son, Charles. Mr. McTaggart was a member of St. Edmund’s Catholic Church of Watseka, and a Charter member of St. Theresa Council of Knights of Columbus. He was a local director of Farm Credit Services for many years and served as vice- president of the Federal Farm Credit District Board. He was a lifelong farmer and a graduate of University of Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Edmund’s Catholic Church of Watseka or to the donor’s choice.
