Officiating was Rev. Jim Hoyt. Mr. Parks died on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1931 in Watseka. He married Bety Markes. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Ann Parks of Fisk, Missouri, Sarah Freiwald of Mendora, Eve Hayes of Providence, Kentucky, and Renee Morgan of Onarga; one son, Dick Parks of Bureau; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren. Preceding him in death are one son, John Parks; and one grandson, David Snyder. Mr. Parks was a member of VFW Post #3485 in Doniphan and a member of American Legion Post 87 in Doniphan and a member of P. B. D. A. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a police officer and detective for the Chicago Heights Police Department for 20 years. He worked as an officer for Mesa Merchants Police in Arizona. He enjoyed fishing and going to the target range. Arrangements were made by White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk, Missouri.
