Swanstrom Ronna, 81, of Paxton, will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loda. Officiating will be Rev. Denis White. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Loda. Mrs. Ronna died at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Heartland Heath Care Center in Paxton. She was born June 20, 1924 in Buckley, to Joseph and Florence Craner Gleason. She married Everett Swanstrom Nov. 27, 1946 in Kankakee. He died Aug. 25, 1987. She married Lawrence E. Ronna on Aug. 7, 1997 in Paxton. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Stephen a& Bonnie Swanstrom of Morrison, and Stanley & Carol Swanstrom of Gilman; two daughters, Sandra & C. J. Grady of Paxton, and Shelly Swanstrom of Paxton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Tuttle and Mary Calvert both of Bradley; and numerous other relatives. Preceding her in death along with her first husband, Everett, are her parents, one son, Shawn, two brothers, and one sister. Mrs. Ronna spent her entire life in the Buckley, Loda and Paxton communities. She graduated from Loda High School in 1942. She was employed at Switchcraft in Paxton for 10 years and she provided home health care to the elderly for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Paxton were she also worked in the bingo kitchen. She delivered peace meals for several years. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and embroidering quilts. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Paxton Peace Meal. Arrangements were made by Ford-Baier Funeral Home in Paxton.
