SHROVE, 93 Funeral services for Anna Elizabeth Shrove, 93, of Gilman, were held Monday, November 28, 2005 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Officiating was Rev. John Balluff. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Gilman. Pallbearers were Danny Hanson, Chris Shrove, Mike Begovisch, Paul Parkhill, Bob Gray, and Frank Gagnon. Musicians were Jon Christy, Don Keigher, and Gary Cahoe. Mrs. Shrove died at 11:26 a.m. Thursday, November 24, 2005 at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion in Gilman. She was born January 6, 1912 in Downers Grove to Julius & Elizabeth Lesak Krusec. she married Martin W. Shrove on Sept. 1, 1934 in Downers Grove. He died on August 18, 1983. Survivors include one son, James M. & Carol Shrove of Gilman; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Sullivan of Phoenix, Arizona. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, one sister, Lillian Skibicki and one brother, Louis Krusec. Mrs. Shrove spent her childhood in the Downers Grove/Brookfield areas. Her former places of residence included Cary and Fox River Grove. Mrs. Shrove worked for 24 years for Carnegie-Illinois Steel of Chicago. She owned and operated a restaurant in the Chicago area since 1950 and the Coral Lounge Restaurant in Gilman for 24 years from 1966 go 1990. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, C. C. W., Moose Lodge for 60 years where she was a past president, and Quester in the Onarga Chapter. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and was a Cubs and Bulls fan. She collected plates which she displayed in the Coral Lounge Restaurant. Memorials may be made to the Gilman Nursing Pavilion or Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
