Officiating will be Rev. Connie Williams Moodie. Burial will be at the Gilman Cemetery. Mrs. Siela died at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at the Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. She was born on Jan. 16, 1908 in rural Danford to Otto and Anna Tammen Saathoff. She married Russell K. Siela on Sept. 15, 1947 in Chicago. He survives. Other survivors include on sister-in-law, Helen Saathoff of Gilman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, and her two brothers, Alfred and Clarence Saathoff. Mrs. Siela spent her childhood in the Danforth and Gilman area. She attended and graduated from the Gilman Schools. She attended the Marycrest Business School in Kankakee for two years. She was first employed by Abe Ruben as a bookkeeper and then as a supervisor for C.I.P.’ s in Paxton. Mrs. Siela was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Zion’s Women Guild, Community Betterment Club and the Bridge Club. She enjoyed dancing and traveling.
