Officiating was Rev. John Balluff. Burial with military rites provided by the Gilman American Legion Post 499, was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Gilman. Pallbearers were Alan Clodi, Garrett Harrison, Kim Wasmer, Gerry Kreeb, Jeff McMillan, and Doug Schmidt. Music was provided by the trio Karen Wasmer, Don Kiegher, and John Christy. Mrs. Wasmer died at 4:20 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Gilman Nursing Pavilion in Gilman. She was born on Sept. 13 1922 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, to Martin and Clara Stevens Stover. She married Wilfred H. “Bud” Wasmer on May 31, 1945, in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He died on May 8, 1972. Survivors include five daughters, Donna & Ted Carmack of Bothel, Washington, Theresa “Terry” Martell of Union Town, Ohio, Nancy Wasmer of Charleston, Wendy & Alan Clodi of Bourbonnais, and Kathy Wasmer of Gilman; one son, Richard Wasmer of Gilman; four grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and two brothers, Raymond and Robert Stover. Betty Ann was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Gilman American Legion Post 499. She was an WW II Veteran. She was an Army WACS stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, flower gardening, bowling, golf, and watching college and professional sports.
