At her request, her remains will be cremated. Services will be conducted by Rev. Janet Miller, of Onarga United Methodist Church, at the Onarga Township Cemetery. Mrs. Wittrup was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Onarga, the daughter of Henry and Pearl Heiberger. Her first husband, Harold Hasselbring, whom she married Dec. 29, 1937, died Feb. 27, 1984. Her second husband, Glenn Wittrup, died Dec. 23, 1999. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Leland & Jane Hasselbring of Onarga and Jerry & Kathy Hasselbring of Paxton; one step-daughter, Karen Moe of Chino Hills, California; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wittrup graduated from Alma Lee Cosmetology School in Champaign, in 1935 and worked as a beautician in the Onarga area for many years, retiring in the late 1960’s. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, dancing and listening to big band music. Memorials may be made to the Onarga United Methodist Church or to the donor’s choice. Arrangements were made by Cremation Society of Illinois.
